Tree removal & trimming in Burnet
Plan removal, tree trimming or fallen-tree cleanup using the local checks below. For service scope, start with tree removal, trimming and pruning or storm damage work.
Burnet is changing waste providers on November 1, 2026. Confirm which service applies on the actual cleanup date before building a tree-work quote around a monthly event or a new weekly brush allowance.

Plan around the November 2026 transition
The city’s Residential Solid Waste and Recycling Services page announces a transition to Texas Disposal Systems beginning November 1, 2026, including weekly curbside bulky-waste and brush collection. As of this guide’s October 21 check, that start date is still ahead.
The same page contains descriptions of the earlier monthly service. Read the dated update and ask the city or provider which instructions apply to your planned pickup. Do not combine old and future allowances into one disposal promise.
If the tree-work date moves across the transition, revisit the material plan. A company quoting in October may otherwise carry an earlier collection assumption into a November job. Keep the confirmed arrangement with the proposal.
Confirm the new allowance and preparation
The City Manager’s September 4, 2026 message describes the incoming weekly service as one bulky item or up to two cubic yards of bulky waste or brush. It specifies tied brush bundles no longer than four feet and limbs no larger than four inches in diameter.
Use those details as questions for the current account provider before collection. Ask how mixed bulky items and brush affect the allowance and what additional service is available when a removal produces more material.
A tree-work proposal should say whether it includes preparation for an accepted collection route or private hauling. The existence of an allowance does not perform the cutting, bundling or movement from the tree to the curb.
Do not rely on an expired Chunk Your Junk date
The residential-service page’s October 1 update says the final Chunk Your Junk event was rescheduled to October 17 and that events under that name end after October. It describes a different Bring Your Brush program beginning in 2027. The final October event is already past on this guide’s check date.
That makes historical event flyers unsuitable as a destination for a newly booked job. Ask about the currently available route and future event conditions rather than loading a trailer for an old date.
For a large project, obtain a private hauling option as a separate comparison. If an event or account allowance is not confirmed, mark it as unresolved rather than presenting it as an included disposal solution.
Keep tree assessment separate from service changes
The waste transition does not determine whether a tree should be removed or pruned. Describe the concern to a qualified professional and ask what assessment is appropriate. Check applicable local review with the responsible authority before authorizing cutting.
For storm material, first establish whether hazards remain. A cleanup booking should not stand in for a response to an unstable tree or affected wire. Report electrical involvement to the utility and stay clear.
Explain access, gates and surfaces that need protection. Ask the company to identify the tree and describe the stump outcome and restoration exclusions. Our quote worksheet helps compare complete scopes during the service transition.
Keep a dated Burnet material plan
Record the intended collection or hauling date, the provider confirmation, the accepted material and who prepares it. If anything changes, check the plan again before the crew creates a pile.
At completion, review what remains and any later disposal dependency. Save the proposal and invoice with the dated service information. For wider planning, use removal, pruning and storm-work guides. This page reports the announced transition without guaranteeing service for an individual load.
